Clare has worked extensively in Film, Television, Theatre and Radio for more than 30 years. The summer she left school her band; ‘Altered Images’ were signed to Sony Records. Following this, Clare appeared in the BAFTA winning comedy Gregory’s Girl. Altered Images’ quickly had worldwide success, selling millions of records, topping the charts in several countries. They recorded 3 Top 10 Albums. She still performs at festivals around the country playing to vast audiences.
She has had roles in dozens of TV and Radio Dramas on some of the UK’s best-loved TV shows including, Skins, Waterloo Road, Eastenders, Red Dwarf and Father Ted. Her film credits include, Gregory’s Girl, Comfort and Joy, Loyal and the recent BAFTA winning feature The Wee Man. She has recently completed work on the independent feature film Delirium due for release next year, and is currently a presenter on STV’s SCOTLAND’s Real Heroes. Her debut novel Talullah and the Teenstars reached No 2 in the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Chart and her second book Tallulah on Tour is now available on Amazon Kindle. The books feature songs that she has written to accompany Talullah’s tale and has also co-written songs for the TV series Skins.
Clare has worked as a volunteer for various charity's her entire adult life – from helping in her local Mind shop, to manning the phones at a North London Women's Refuge. She became a patron of the British Association of Adoption and Fostering in 2009, which has now joined forces with Coram, the oldest children's charity in the UK. She regularly speaks about the plight of children in care, and has also helped to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds to fund creative therapies for adopted children. This year, she hosted the National Adoption Awards and is enormously proud of her role as a patron with Coram BAAF. She lives in North London with her husband Stephen and her daughter Elle. Altered Images continue to perform live as an all female band.
