Bootleg Beatles

Bootleg Beatles

Formed from the original cast of London’s West End multi-media stage show ‘Beatlemania’, 2020 marks The Bootleg Beatles’ 40th Anniversary. Initially performing in small clubs and colleges throughout the UK, they went on to support numerous acts over the years including Rod Stewart, Tom Jones, and Elton John. In 1995 they supported Oasis at Earls Court, and at Knebworth the following year. In 1999 the band became the second only group (after The Beatles) to play the Apple Rooftop in a recreation of The Beatles’ historic last public performance.

Such is the band’s far-reaching popularity they now perform regular high-level concert tours of Australia, New Zealand, South America, Belgium, Holland and Scandinavia, as well as their annual sell-out national UK tour and a summer festival season which always includes Glastonbury. They are reputed to be the band that has played this festival more times than any other.

The Bootleg Beatles have become 'an institution' with their note-perfect recreation of the hits from the world’s most famous songbook. Every tiny detail is meticulously covered from costumes to authentic period instruments; from their witty ‘Liverpudlian’ banter to their ‘inflection perfect’ vocal mimicry. But it’s not just their sound that is so authentic but also their uncanny resemblance to the originals. As one reviewer recently said…’it’s not John Paul George and Ringo … but you simply won’t believe it’.
