Hazel O`Connor

“ It's all there, that voice, soaring sax, layered drums and textured guitar riffs...timeless...” Glastonbury Festival

The first major female star of the eighties, Hazel O'Connor makes a welcome return to Chilfest this year with her full band. An acclaimed award-winning singer-songwriter and actress, Hazel became an overnight sensation after her BAFTA nominated portrayal of Kate on the big screen in the 1980 smash hit Breaking Glass. This iconic film produced a stream of top ten hits, including the iconic Will You, Eighth Day, D-Days and Big Brother.

Live onstage here, Hazel's unforgettable songs, delivered with her unique passion and fire, seem even more relevant in our present times. Hazel will also be joined by Clare Hirst (Belle Stars, Communards , David Bowie) on sax and Sarah Fisher (Eurythmics) on keys.

Ahead of the show O'Connor said, "I'm really looking forward to playing Chilfest again. Likewise, getting to play with my sisters in music, sax player Clare Hirst and keyboards and vocalist Sarah Fisher in this full band line-up is gonna be a powerful thing!"

“The sturdiness and earthy expression of her voice...marvellous” Hot Press
