IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 2021
On Monday we posted confirming that we will proceed with Chilfest on 23 & 24 July.
Since then, we've seen continued increasing hospitalisations and very high numbers of positive COVID cases across the UK and particularly across Dacorum.
As I’ve said, and hopefully demonstrated previously, I consider delivery of a safe Chilfest to be non-negotiable. I am concerned that circumstances are such that I need to reconsider. As well as my own reservations, we have spoken to lots of Chilfest music lovers telling us they’re still not feeling ready and comfortable to spend time at a large event. The Government’s mixed messages have really left us all in a difficult and confusing position.
Having done all in my power over the last 15 months including 4 reschedules, I am left with no alternative but to cancel Chilfest 2021. This is a bitter pill to take and is an utterly heartbreaking decision for my Chilfest family, my immediate family and me personally.
To be completely honest, this puts my Company and my family in a very difficult financial position. The last couple of years have cost us tens of thousands of pounds. I know that we are not alone in this, but certainly the future of our festival will be very uncertain if we can’t maintain a decent number of ticket holders. We are very reliant on the goodwill of you, our Chilfest supporters and would greatly appreciate anyone who can hold on to their tickets until 2022. We may rely on this if we are to save Chilfest.
I really want to apologise for the disruption and disappointment this news brings. We will post details on what to do regarding tickets, transfers, refunds etc. as soon as possible.
Finally, I would like to personally thank our artistes, suppliers and crew for going the extra mile in supporting my decision. And the biggest 'thank you' to you - our Chilfest fans. Your love and support is what gets us through.
